Glee is
the largest annual trade exhibition in the UK for the garden retail sector. It takes place at the NEC in Birmingham (UK) in September.
The dates for 2012 are 17-19 September. Members
of Gardenex qualify for a 12.5% discount on
stand space at Glee. During
Glee, Gardenex manages the International Buyers' Centre. We direct
buyers to our members' stands, ensure they have a copy of our directory
of member companies and provide them with advice on sourcing British

Journées des Collections Jardin, France - 22-24 May 2012 (JDC)
JDC is the leading trade show in France for garden and leisure equipment. It is held outdoors under canvas, this year at Chantilly Polo Club near Apremont, just north of Paris. The show is open to buyers from retail chains/groups and mail-order companies only and is popular with them as a result. It is very successful in attracting buyers from all the key garden/DIY/hypermarket chains, such as Truffaut, Botanic, Jardiland, Auchan, Leroy Merlin and Castorama. Independent Garden Centre Show, USA - 21-23 August 2012 (IGC)
IGC is the premier US show for the independent garden centre sector. It will be held in Chicago from 21-23 August in 2012. Iberflora, Valencia, Spain - 3-5 October 2012
Established in 1972, Iberflora is Spain's leading trade fair for the plant, floristry, commercial horticulture and garden equipment sectors. It takes place annually in Valencia and attracts around 600 exhibitors. In 2012 Iberflora will be further strengthened by the decision to hold it concurrently with the 7th edition of the DIY trade show Eurobrico so creating one comprehensive event for the whole Spanish garden and DIY industry.
Feria Valencia, the show organisers, are offering a substantial discount to all Gardenex members wishing to exhibit. The package comprises a 16sq m stand with shell scheme that includes aluminium structure, melamine side partitions, carpet (optional colour), nameplate, spotlights, a 500w socket, 1 table, 4 chairs and a desk, along with catalogue entry, insertion in the on-line exhibitor list and floor-plans, exhibitor badges, basic daily cleaning, parking, compulsory insurance, invitations for clients and discounts on travel and hotels. The cost of the package is €1915.20 (ie €1515.20 + €400 inscription fee) which is a significant saving on the standard price of €2200 + €400 inscription fee.

Outdoor Design, Build & Supply, Dubai, UAE - 25-27 March 2013
Outdoor Design, Build & Supply is a new trade show being launched in Dubai, UAE. It will take place from 25 to 27 March 2013 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event will focus on products and services for the design, build and landscaping of public parks, private and palace gardens, green spaces within urban areas and major residential developments. It will form part of 'UAE Landscape Week', a UAE Government initiative. Streamline, the Dubai-based organiser of the show, is offering Gardenex members a 10% discount on exhibiting costs.
Streamline highlights many reasons why UK suppliers should exhibit at this event, including:
- The largest buyers of outdoor products and services in the UAE - the municipal authorities - are lending their full support.
- Abu Dhabi Municipality aims to provide 25sq m of open space for every resident (currently at 20sq m).
- New legislation is being enforced in the UAE and GCC states (by end 2012) whereby developers must include a minimum of 25% 'green space' and 'outdoor landscaping' in ALL residential and commercial projects.
- By 2025, every 300 metres of outdoor space in the UAE will require 'recreational areas' as per UAE law.
- Significant investment is currently being made into local and regional infrastructure.
